History:  Carnegie Mellon University is a private, coeducational university in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in the United States. The H. John Heinz III School of Public Policy and Management, the Graduate School of Industrial Administration, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, the College of Fine Arts, the Mellon College of Science, the School of Computer Science, and the Carnegie Institute of Technology are all part of the university. 

Numerous fields offer both graduate and undergraduate degree programs. About 7,700 students are enrolled in total. 
The businessman Andrew Carnegie granted the city of Pittsburgh $1 million in 1900 to establish a technical school. It was named Carnegie Institute of Technology in 1912 after being known as Carnegie Technical Schools. In 1967, the institution merged with the Andrew W. Mellon Institute, founded in Pittsburgh in 1913. With three art galleries, two music halls, and two theatres under its management, the university has established a reputation as an
